General information
Parkview Children’s Centre was formed in 1985 as a privately owned and operated daycare. A search commenced for a building location suitable for a centre for early education and the red brick house on Lakeshore Road was discovered in Burlington. In 1987, a Board of Directors consisting of parents and community members was formed and Parkview Children’s Centre was registered as a non-profit organization under the name Sharlaur Children’s Centre (Burlington) Inc. In 2000, Parkview Children’s Centre was chosen by the Region of Halton to operate child care centres in their two new Long Term Care Facilities in Oakville and in north Burlington. In 2005 The Village School in Post Inn Village and The Orchard School in Creekway Village expanded Parkview’s overall enrollment.
