"Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, she turned into a butterfly'. These words were the inspiration for Michelle Blackburn, breast cancer survivor to embrace her scars and transform them into the images you see here.
The Butterfly Story is looking to provide breast cancer survivors the opportunity to express their experience artistically through body art by Chantal Hughes and photography by Izabela Pioro.
We hope that breast cancer survivors will find this experience to be transformative, as well those who have the opportunity to see the finished product through a gallery display.
