The Peterborough Flora Compendium was born from a love of the outdoors and a passion for learning about the abundance and diversity of plants in our environment. Our mission is to educate others about what's growing, where and why. Through this knowledge, we gain a new appreciation of the complexities and harmonies of the natural world. We all know it's important to conserve and protect natural areas, but it is equally important to know what you are protecting and why it matters.
Founded in the summer of 2015, initially to feature a compendium of local flora, and a list of where to wander. Shortly thereafter we began to offer a variety of guided hikes. In 2016 we have continued to expand and have recently introduced monthly and yearly membership options, a curated selection of framed prints are now available in our online store, a plant-related podcast and videos.
