Seeley’s Bay, Ontario is a small community, about 550 households, proudly known for: 1. Our place in the landscape – close to the Thousand Islands, nestled in the Frontenac Arch, a gateway to the world heritage Rideau Waterway

2. A destination of choice for eco-tourists – cycling tours along the Rideau and our lakes region; hiking the Arch at Rock Dunder and more; paddling the Rideau & Gananoque River routes; sustainable fishing; connections to local artisans and foods; ‘green’ accommodation (cottages, B&B’s)

3. A community that delivers on the promise of a safe, friendly, restful & healthy haven for visitors & residents

The community is on the Rideau Canal 25 km northeast of Kingston, the first full-service port-of-call heading north on the canal from Kingston. From our free public wharf you can get directly to four beautiful lakes. And if you go through the locks on the canal, heading south, you can get to ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD by water.

We have many assets, but key among them is great fishing. We catch bass, pike, pickerel, lake trout, perch, bowfin, crappie and zillions of sunfish, both ‘punkinfish’ and blue gill varieties around here. These are well-managed, safe and accessible waters. We have affordable marinas and cottage rentals. You can rent a boat or you can fish from the shore.

We are located in the magnificent UNESCO designated Frontenac Arch Biosphere. We proudly practice sustainable tourism and good environmental husbandry. We are also located on the UNESCO heritage site – the Rideau Waterway. These international designations underscore the unique resources and beauty of this part of the world.

We have embarked on a community improvement agenda called Seeley's Bay Steps Up. Please join us and help us introduce this great place to visitors and new residents.
