Hello, Welcome to The Safe & Sound Rescue Website! We are a small, local, registered not-for-profit group who believes adoptable animals should not be euthanized when they are injured or abandoned, but rather given another chance. We take in animals from other veterinarians, emergency clinics, overwhelmed owners, breeders etc. We are a no judgement zone which means all kinds of people bring us dogs and puppies. Sometimes they are house trained and extremely well socialized; sometimes they are timid, even fearful and have never seen a leash. We spend a lot of time cultivating trust relationships with some of them. When dog farmers often send us their retired breeding dogs - we applaud them for this, as the alternatives are often not so kind. we will do what we can to help as many dogs as possible and if another practice calls and has an injured or sick animal and the owners ask them about surrender as an option - we are often called. we have become very well known for the work that we do. when we get too full - we often work with our local humane societies, we will spay and neuter and repair dogs and send them to the groups we trust.
