Grosvenor Nursery School

General information

Grosvenor Nursery School is a not-for-profit school administered by a volunteer Parent Board of Directors. The well qualified teachers bring many years of experience to the program. It was established in 1949, and continues to be a progressive school for children 2.5 to 5 years. Daily experiences promote the child's total development so that each child attains maximum all-round growth. The warm, nurturing atmosphere facilitates optimal learning.

The co-operative spirit and collaborative efforts at Grosvenor Nursery School ensure that our preschool experience is enriching for every child and family. Special memories are created and relationships are formed that can last a lifetime.

We offer several early learning readiness programs for varying age groups 2.5 to 5 years:

3 Mornings or 3 Afternoons Tuesday - Thursday
5 Mornings & J.K. Monday - Friday
Mornings 8:55 - 11:30
Afternoons 12:55 - 3:30

At Grosvenor Nursery School each child is accepted as the individual that they are and provided with the following opportunities each day:

Special Jr. Kindergarten Program:
This program for 4 year old children is specifically designed to meet the needs of the older preschool child. The Jr. Kindergarten program expands upon the early learning curriculum with more advanced activities focused on the developmental needs of the older child.

These include:
- Further development of concepts
- Pre-reading skills
- Jolly phonics program and workbook
- Reader exchange program
- Sight word vocabulary
- Specialized work sheets
- Pre-mathematics skills
- Advancement of printing skills
- Graduated special projects
