Imagination is the gateway to knowledge

Academy of Imagination is a small, family centred playcare centre. With a maximum of 16 children, in a multiaged environment we offer what bigger daycares simply cannot; a personalized, family oriented program based on the specific needs of our families where the children are not separated based on their age, but are able to chose the activities they participate in.

With the help of three Educarers, the children explore the world around them with childlike wonder. The majority of the day is spent outdoors exploring the environment; finding insects, digging for worms, climbing trees, expeditions through the 'forest', fishing, feeding the ducks, and anything else their hearts desire. The summer is spent by the pool, swimming lessons are provided Monday to Thursday.

We feel that children develop their imaginations by exploring the world, and what better way to develop their creative thinking than providing an environment without telelvision, smart boards, and iPads. Days are filled with activities centred around science, math, literature, music and movement that are based on their interests.

Children develop the necessary social skills, problem solving skills they need to be successful in school and life. In a muliti age environment they are given the opportunity to help and model behaviours to the younger children, and the younger children learn from the older children. Brothers and sisters are able to play with each other at any time.
