About Burgess Services

The company started in 1946 and was founded by Harry Burgess. It all began when Harry purchased a small truck to haul milk from local farmers to Sussex Cheese and Butter Company in Sussex, New Brunswick. Over the next 10 years business grew with Harry expanding to 5 trucks. In the Mid 1950's, more trucks were purchased and Harry expanded into dump trucks to transport gravel and soil for local contractors, later expanding into heavy equipment for highway construction.
Derek and Trevor Burgess joined the company. The sons with their vision of the future expanded from smaller trucks to tractor trailers.

In 1996 as part of their 50th anniversary, the company expanded into a modern 25,000 square foot building including service bays, fabrication, wash and body shop.
More expansion and diversification came when the company created Brunswick Hino; they are the only Hino dealer in New Brunswick with close proximity to the major centers in the province.
Currently with over 50 employees and over 20 company-owned trucks in the company, Burgess Transportation Services looks to do more diversification and expansion in the future.
