From a team of one, the company has exploded over the past several years into a vertically and horizontally integrated lifestyle development company with 650 employees across several affiliated divisions. Private Service Realty is the Freed team’s brokerage house, with exclusive listings of Freed properties. The sales team at 600 King Street West is a full-service condo store with an in-house team of designers. The hotel management team is a joint-venture with the Thompson Group, renowned for its collection of cutting-edge yet luxurious boutique hotels. And the team at Muskoka Bay Club in Gravenhurst, Ontario, manages one of the province’s premier golf courses while running a sales program on the 850-acre site.

Says Freed, “It’s hard to take your vision to someone else and say, ‘build it,’ or to hand over the responsibility to someone else to make the sales pitch. This is why we’ve expanded horizontally and vertically to take more control of the entire process, and deepen our team.”
