Alana Sutherland RMT

General information

Alana has been practicing as a registered massage therapist since her graduation from Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in July 2001.

She has experience in both therapeutic and general relaxation Swedish massage including;

* Pre/post-natal (pregnancy)
* Infant massage and instruction
* Sports treatments (specifically runners, dancers & swimmers)
* Stress management
* Headaches and migraines
* Injury rehabilitation
* Chronic pain management
* Deep Tissue Therapy
* NISA – Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment
* Hot stone therapy
* Aromatherapy
* Seated/Chair Massage
* Lymph drainage

She became interested in Reiki while in school and began her journey with the energy work in 2000 with level 1 certification and then level 2 in 2001. Working with mind, body and spirit is an integral part of her work. In 2008 she became a Reiki master with the intention of teaching workshops and deepening her connection to this subtle healing art. Continuing education is an important facet of her professional life and in 2009 she traveled to Thailand to study Thai Massage and can incorporate Thai techniques into her treatments.
