NATALIE BELL

General information

Natalie Bell is a Certified Yoga Teacher and comes to Vancouver Island from
Ontario- home of 4 out of 5 Great Lakes, J. Bieber, and E. coli outbreaks.
She has been teaching yoga since 2006 and has a background in Iyengar,
Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga, but specializes in Vinyasa, or flow style yoga.
 

Natalie took her first yoga class because she was bored with her workout
routine, and thought it might make her thighs skinnier. What she didn't
expect, was that yoga would turn out to be more than just a workout, and
that she would forget about her thighs altogether. What has and continues
to draw her to the practice, is the psychological aspect of yoga, combined
with the physical. She feels that using the practice to investigate how we
react when we feel challenged, pushed, or uncomfortable, and then learning
how to breathe in those moments and chose how to act next, is one of the
greatest tools we can learn. Natalie believes in using yoga to move through
and release the physical tension and stress in our bodies, but also in our
in minds. She believes that beginning to pay attention to how we feel both
physically and mentally, and why we do the things we do, makes us into more
empathetic, intelligent people. She also wholeheartedly co-signs her
teacher, Seane Corne's statement, when she says, "It takes practicing yoga
every day to make me a relatively nice person."

When not teaching, Natalie enjoys eating raspberries, receiving flowers,
and blogging about life, style, and heartbreak.
